The principles of promoting equality and prohibiting various forms of discrimination are enshrined in Articles 2 and 3 of the TEU, Article 19 of the TFEU, and Article 21 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. This includes discrimination on the grounds of age.
Spark, in consortium with ICF, will contribute to a study for the European Commission (DG JUST), which will provide a broad and comprehensive overview of different forms of discrimination on the grounds of age across various areas of life, such as employment, transport, health care, access to education, and access to services.
Spark will map the policy and action frameworks of 8 Member States on combatting discrimination on the grounds of age. We will also analyse the national legislation of these Member States with regard to regulating this particular type of discrimination.
Spark will also participate in conducting interviews with diverse stakeholders. These interviews aim to collect valuable information on the subject of age discrimination, especially in relation to any challenges or barriers that differing age groups may face.
