On 2 December 2019, Spark held a workshop in Brussels on the ‘Study on Blockchains: legal, governance and interoperability aspects (SMART 2018/0038)’, which is being carried out by Spark Legal Network, Tech4i2, Datarella, Michèle Finck, and a network of national legal experts.
The overall objective of the Study is to help to refine and complement the EU blockchain initiative launched in early 2018, and to contribute to building the Next Generation Internet strategy.
The purpose of the workshop was to present the draft findings of the Study to participants, and to provide a forum for stakeholder insights. The Study Team will refine and finalise its findings as well as validate policy reflections on the basis of the feedback received. This will ensure that the findings in the Final Study Report reflect the concerns of relevant stakeholders.
