New Study on the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments

In collaboration with our partner Deloitte, Spark has started a new study for the European Commission (DG JUST) to ‘Support the preparation of an impact assessment on the potential EU accession to the 2019 Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters’.

The aim of the study is it to carry out an impact assessment for a possible future initiative of the European Commission aimed at proposing the EU accession to the Judgments Convention. The study will assess the impact of different policy options on the achievement of the main policy goals of enhancing access to justice for EU parties and facilitating trade, investment and economic growth by increasing legal certainty and reducing costs in international trade and international resolution of disputes.
