HR officer (part-time) 

Spark Legal and Policy Consulting is looking for an experienced HR officer to join our team part-time, to support recruitment activities and other HR operations and take part in the development of our HR strategy. The successful candidate will be based in our Brussels office.

The opportunity:
Spark is a consultancy dedicated to providing high quality (cross-border) research, analysis and advisory services in a wide range of EU and national law and policy areas (e.g., Energy, Health, Justice and Home Affairs, Competition). With a growing team of over 25 legal and policy consultants, covering more than 10 different European nationalities, we are looking for a part-time HR officer to strengthen our management team and work alongside our Financial and Administrative Officer. The working scheme will correspond to at least 2 days/week and will be further discussed with the successful candidate. .
 
What you will do:
Your key responsibilities will entail:
– Coordinating recruitment procedures, including liaising with the relevant team members to prepare and post job vacancies, reviewing applications and conducting interviews, and attending events and job fairs representing the company;  
– Organising company events, such as team building activities, trainings and networking events; 
– Contributing to the HR strategy, for example regarding recruitment and social legislation matters;
– Supporting HR operations and onboarding processes. 
 
What makes you a good fit: 
– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology or other relevant field; 
– At least 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in multi-cultural environments; 
– Experience or affinity with the EU legal and policy/consultancy sector would be an advantage;   
– Excellent people skills, a professional attitude and ability to connect with people at all levels; 
– Strong commitment to discretion, integrity and empathy;
– A positive, pro-active attitude and ability to learn new skills quickly and suggest changes to a dynamic environment;
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high degree of proficiency in English; a good level of Dutch or French would be a plus.
