Did you know that harmonised minimum training requirements are the basis for the automatic recognition of the relevant professional qualifications across the EU? Such recognition is one of the main achievements in the field of cross-border professional recognition of qualifications in the EU! But how can EU legislation keep up with scientific advancement and technical progress relating to the training of sectorial professions?
Along with the similar studies that Spark is conducting on the professions of dental practitioners and pharmacists, and following the publication of our study on scientific and technical developments in nursing education (available here https://lnkd.in/e4mps7r), Spark is honoured to continue to assist the European Commission (DG GROW) in the assessment of the minimum training requirements of another important profession under Directive 2005/36/EC: veterinary surgeons!
The purpose of the study is to carry out a mapping of the training requirements for veterinary surgeons across the EU, and assist the European Commission in its assessment of whether an update of the minimum harmonised training requirements would be appropriate, in order to take account of generally acknowledged scientific and technical progress.
